    Shannon’s experience as an artist, designer and educator, with many years experience as a fashion designer and textile artist working across various art centres in Queensland means LORE’s products are truly one of a kind.

    Est. 2016 and manufactured respectfully on the lands of the Yuggera, Turrbal and Gimuy peoples, LORE is an original textiles concept developed by Wakka Wakka, Gurang Gurang, Butchulla artist/designer Shannon Brett.  LORE references local stories through oral histories and archival analysis centred in the "Australian" black experience, as vibrant expressions in material form.

    LORE’s creations are featured as spectacularly colourful garments, accessories and luxurious lengths of screen printed fabrics designed by Shannon Brett.

    Each garment conjures dialogue around identity, culture and Country and is created as part of a thematic body of work.

    LORE's fabrics and fashions are available exclusively online.

    One-of-a-kind garments designed, printed, and sewn by hand.

    All finished garments are created by a unique process.

    Shannon Brett draws and hand paints each fabric design onto fabric or film at their studio on Yuggera land in Meanjin. Each design is then transferred to silk screens, and hand screen printed on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora nation by Mark and the team at Publisher Textiles and Papers (@pubtextiles).

    When the screen printing process is complete, Shannon then carefully designs garments to compliment the fabrics. Hand sewn with expertise in Meanjin, each garment is a considered piece of quality clothing, produced in small quantities, available to you online.

    There is no waste at LORE. All remnants transform into our beautiful LORE ACCESSORIES; becoming headbands, headwraps and or earrings.
